A Shelby County man is in jail tonight facing dog fighting and drug charges. Authorities pulled nearly 2 dozen pit bulls from Matthew Dalton’s home yesterday in rural Stewardson. The 34-year-old is accused of training the dogs to fight. Authorities also found 8 pounds of marijuana.

A judge declares a mistrial on Wednesday, in the largest dog fighting case Saline County prosecutors say they have ever handled. 26 year old Patrick Janiszewski was charged in January with 27 counts of unlawful dog fighting.
