Police are searching for the person who fatally shot a family pet in the head early this morning. Ada Tavares called the police about 3:45 a.m. and told them she heard her 3-year-old dog, Princess, barking, then heard a gunshot. After the gunshot, she said she heard a yelp, then silence.

During his bike ride Friday evening, a little voice in Lind Simonsen’s head told him to peddle harder. He did and coming over the hill on Norpoint Way in Northeast Tacoma, he saw his wife, Jorgann, and their yellow Labrador, Gallagher, being attacked by two pit bulls.
